'Emergency Programming' refers to a sort of failsafe system, usually seen in radio and television stations.

Upon detecting a certain level of silence for a certain amount of time, such a system ensures the broadcast of pre-recorded material to the audience as a way to avoid 'dead air'.

In order to fill the dead air between bigger, higher concept, 'full-length' releases of my own music; I am activating an Emergency Programming system, of which this release is the first.

Here, we have three short piano pieces; composed and recorded around the time of the birth of my daughter.

Recorded on my Opus Pianino, these pieces have been subtly processed using tape machines, spring reverbs, and effects pedals to introduce unique textures - turning the familiar sound of a felt piano into something slightly more abstract.

It has been too quiet for too long.
